This isn’t it. You can feel it.You just can’t name what “it” would be.

You’ve been circling the same career question for a while now...and it never quite lands. This is a free, guided conversation with NorAI, an AI guide built for exactly this kind of question. About 30 minutes to make sense of what’s actually going on...and you leave with your first move.

The loop you already know by heart

the loop
Maybe you need a different type of work.
Maybe it’s just the company, and the same work somewhere else would feel different.
Maybe the right move is to stay and ride out a rough season.
Or maybe the feeling would follow you anywhere, and you need a different shift completely.

You’ve run every option on a loop...in the shower, on the drive home, in the middle of meetings you used to care about. Every option has real pros and real cons, and that’s what keeps the loop spinning...the weighing never settles anything, it just starts over.

It’s hard to pick the right move when you don’t fully understand the problem. Most of us don’t even realize that’s the missing piece (we just think we’re bad at deciding). Getting clear on the problem is the part that has to come first.

You’re not alone in this

51%
watching for or actively seeking a new job
72%
say it’s a bad time to be looking
56%
of seekers hope for “something better or different”

Gallup asked American workers about this recently: 51% are watching for or actively seeking a new job... while 72% say it’s a bad time to be looking. That means half the workforce wants a change it doesn’t feel safe to make.

And of the people looking, 56% picked the same reason: they’re “hoping to find something better or different.” But finding better or different means knowing what you’re looking for... and that starts with understanding where you are now, and what exactly isn’t working.

The loop has terrible timing, too. It spins up on Sunday nights, during the commute, a weeknight at 3am, on the vacation that was supposed to help... exactly the moments when nothing is open and nobody is picking up. This exercise is built for those moments: it’s free, it’s available whenever you are, and you can start the second the loop spins up.

How it works

1

Bring the question you keep circling.

Even a vague question counts. (“Something’s off and I can’t say what” is a fine place to start.)

2

Talk it through with NorAI.

It’s a regular conversation: NorAI asks, you answer, and the next question builds on what you just said.

3

Leave knowing where you stand and where to take your next step.

The question you brought becomes a situation you actually understand, and you pick one small first step toward deciding what to do about it. It’s written down for you in a short document called My First Move, yours to keep.

The question I keep circling, and what sits under it

Version 1

What’s actually going on

Before this is a question about whether to leave, it’s a simpler one I haven’t put into words yet: who’s the guy who gets his time back? Eighteen months ago I stopped expecting to influence anything at work, and I’ve been spending myself at full tilt anyway.

How I got here

The question I brought was whether to stay or go. But every time we walked one step down, the same thing surfaced: it isn’t the roadmap, and it isn’t the company. It’s that I’ve been measuring my weeks with a ruler I inherited... hours spent proving I’m indispensable to a plan I stopped believing in a year and a half ago.

What came up along the way

I kept saying “it’s fine” about things that are not fine. The meeting I replay on Sunday nights is not about the roadmap. It’s the moment I agreed to own something I knew would not matter, and smiled about it.

My first move

This week, reach out to the guy from the Johns Hopkins entrepreneur workshop, the one who ran Fortune 500s for 30 years and gave it up after a health scare. One conversation. Not advice about my situation. Ask him what he actually gave up, what it bought him, and what his weeks look like now.

Where this goes next

What’s missing isn’t information about jobs. It’s plain words for the man who gets his time back, and a way to tell which choice is actually yours instead of which one scores on a ruler you inherited.

“Couldn’t I just do this with a regular AI chatbot?”

You’ve probably already tried. Most people who land here have asked an AI about this at midnight (and taken the quiz, and read a book or two...). That’s a good sign. It means you take the question seriously.

This is still just a conversation: you talk, and NorAI asks the kind of questions that move you forward instead of around. The other difference is that it ends... after about 30 minutes, you leave with your situation in words and your first move.

The people behind NorAI

I’m Nora. I built NorAI with my husband, Jonathan, because we needed it first. It started when I needed a clear, logical way to decide whether to change my career path from engineering to project management. Four years later, it was Jonathan’s turn, when he unexpectedly lost his job and needed a first step toward whatever came next.

Between us, we have over 21 years of engineering and project management experience. We think in systems, and we believe anything can be figured out and decided with conviction, once you have a process that cuts through the noise.

Questions you probably have

Is it actually free?

Yes. No card, no trial that flips into a charge.

Do I need an account?

No. The whole exercise runs without one. At the end, we ask whether you want a free account to keep your conversation and your document... skipping it is fine, and your work just stays on your device.

What happens to what I share?

While you’re doing the exercise, the conversation lives in your browser and nowhere else... nothing is stored on our servers. If you create an account at the end, your browser encrypts your conversation and your document with a key that only you hold, and only then is the encrypted copy sent to us. Nobody can read it. Not support, not the two of us who built this. What we can see is your email address and basic account details (like when you signed in), and that is the complete list. One trade-off to know about: because only you hold the key, the recovery code you save when you sign up is the only way back into your saved work if you ever lose your passkey. We can’t recover it for you.

How long does it really take?

About 30 minutes, depending on how deep you want to go into your situation.

What if I don’t even know what my question is?

That’s totally normal. Most people arrive with a general sense that “something’s off and I can’t say what.” This is still a workable starting point, and getting from that general sense to the specific question is the first thing the conversation does.

Is this career coaching?

Nope. There’s no résumé help and no job-picking here. NorAI is here as a guide towards the deciding... and deciding starts with seeing your situation clearly. Whether that points to a new job or the one you already have, the decision stays yours.

You already know the loop by heart

Thirty minutes, and the question you’ve been circling becomes a situation you understand...with your first move ready to go. If any of this sounded like you, it’s ready when you are.
